A dream of Luciano Crolla, year’s in the making, the Main Course finally opened it’s doors in 2015.
Already the proud owner of two very successful Fish and Chip shops – Superfry Gullane & Superfry Longniddrie, Luciano’s ambition led him down the path of a more refined, more challenging project.
He aimed to create a dining experience that showcased the best in Italian cuisine in a setting that reflected the rich tradition of the area.
Gullane is notorious for it’s roots in the sport of golf and proudly offers some of THE premiere courses in Scotland.
The Main Course itself, strives to match the area’s standing in the golf community within the dining industry.
In addition to providing delicious food in a warm and welcoming environment we also give a few cheeky nods to Gullane’s favourite pastime – from our branding toour interior design, there are many touches which won’t be lost on anyone familiar with a golden ferret or the 19th hole.
You don’t just have to take our word for it – since opening, The Main Course, has been showered with glowing reviews, not the least of which coming from The Scottish Sun’s very own Tam Cowan.
Tam, definitely one of our feistier customers, gave us a score 29/30 and said of the restaurant: “the bright, modern interior is very pleasing on the eye.”, of his dish, the Pappardelle Dello Chef he described as “arguably the best pasta I’ve ever eaten”, and the overall meal “absolutely delicious”!
We’ve achieved a lot in our first year but we’re only getting started – we are looking forward to winning many more plaudits & serving many more customers – we’d be honoured if you’d be one of them.
